I'm a bit late with this 'news' but thought I'd post it now as there is no game this week, next game will be on Thursday versus Chivas USA....On July 17th, David Beckham was awarded the 'Best MLS Player' by ESPY (ESPN Network TV) after a fine start to the season. Things have slowed for The Galaxy since the award, but Beckham's contribution is still significant with his 5 goals and 8 assists recorded thus far. This award will sit alongside the many awards that Beckham has collected, along with his OBE and commemorative cap for 100 England appearances. This season will hopefully show that aside from the hype, Beckham has something to offer to the MLS, and this award is a significant step along the way.
