England are due to meet Germany in a friendly international in Berlin on Wednesday, and Beckham has not made the squad. Capello made it clear that no players could be picked if they weren't playing regular first team football, and Beckham has not played since the last Galaxy game on 26th October.
Capello insists that this game will be played as a friendly and he will take the opportunity to experiment with some new faces, resisting the call to recall Michael Owen despite injuries to the forward line.
Beckham misses out on a chance to equal Bobby Moore's tally of 108 England appearences. The next England friendly is in March 2009 against Slovalia, this will be quickly followed by a World Cup qualifier against Ukraine - Beckham will be hoping that his stint at Milan will put him in the frame for this match, although he should be back in pre-season for Galaxy at this time.
