The MLS deadline has passed, yet Beckham and Milan seem confident that a deal can still be struck. On the one hand LA Galaxy and Bruce Arena have stated that they expect Beckham now to return to the US in March, yet the Italian club are calling their bluff saying that they will consider their options after the important Milan derby tomorrow.
One option still open to Beckham is to buy himself out of his contract, whilst the USA contingent believe this is unlikely, it could bring the uncertainty to a speedy conclusion. The MLS have tried to force Milans' hand but as far as the Italians are concerned, they are free to make an offer any time up until Beckham steps on a plane in March.
On the face of it, The Galaxy think they are getting their man back, in reality there is still all to play for, the real end to the saga will probably be in the next seven days.
